Back on Öhlins, and proving that point, Steve Francis is in on a hot run in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt points chase, jumping up to third place for the season after another weekend of consistency. This Ashland, Kentucky racer finished fifth in the Blue Ridge 50 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia, on Saturday, following up a second-place finish Friday night in the Grassy Smith Memorial feature race at South Carolina’s picturesque Cherokee Speedway, in Gaffney. Francis has his number -15 Toyota Camry closing in on the top two in the points, with the leader today being fellow Öhlins racer Jimmy Owens, defending his championship.
